The Women of West Michigan Need YOU!
Women's Resource Center
What if you had $15,000 this year? What would you spend it on?
A well-earned vacation? College tuition for your children?
Extra cushioning for your bank account?

But what if $15,000 was your entire income for this year?
What if you had to raise your children on that income?
Where would you turn?

Sadly, 75% of WRC clients found themselves in
this extreme situation in 2009.
This is not a livable wage for a single person, much less for a family!
70% of our clients are single parents.
They must find employment that provides sustainable income.

Last year, WRC provided 950 clients in 2009 with the skills
to change their circumstances for the better.

You can help WRC reach our spring fundraising goal
by donating $25 dollars right now ~ every gift helps!
85 cents of every dollar you donate goes directly to our clients.

Thank you for your gift!
Grab a friend and head out for a fabulous evening that benefits WRC!

In Her Words ~ "Keep Stepping."

Few women have experienced as challenging of a journey as Ranelle.

Raised by her grandmother after her mother died and her father was incarcerated, Ranelle has gone through much of her life alone. She left home and set out to live on her own when she was just sixteen years old.

Now a single mother of a four-year old son, she lost her last support system when her grandmother died suddenly.

In a crushing blow, she also lost her job as a Certified Medical Assistant. With tears, she said that she doesn't know who to turn to or trust for help in figuring out what her options are, or what her next steps should be.

Though it is a daily struggle to find reliable childcare, she is now enrolled in a class to become a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Ranelle says that she just lives her life "day by day," and that it is the love and concern for her son that keeps her going. Each morning and evening she looks at him and finds the strength to "keep stepping."

POWER organizes a one-evening event to bring women together and it's coming to Grand Rapids! The event features a general reception followed by simultaneous, theme-based dinners hosted at various locations throughout the city.

The 90-minute reception is a great opportunity to network with professional women. After the reception, participants are transported to their selected dinner venues where they can listen to featured industry speakers.
