Southwest St. Johns County
Adult Activities
Martin Luther King Breakfast - January 19th @ 9a.m. Cost is
$10 and this event is open to the public.
Key Note Speaker -
Theresa Harris is the daughter of the late Charles E. Harris and Mrs.
Corrie Caretha Moore Harris. She resides in Rockledge, Fl. She attended Roy
Elementary School in Flagler County and graduated from W.E. Harris School in
Hastings, Florida. She attended and Graduated from Florida A&M University
with Honors, received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics with an emphasis
in Food Science and Nutrition. She received her Masters Degree in Education
Leadership from Nova University, and did her Doctoral Studies at Florida State
University.
Coed Volleyball - Every 2nd Sunday @ 6 p.m. & Tuesday
night @ 6p.m. Ages 16 and up.
Youth Activities
Teens Valentine Ball - February 14th @ 6 p.m. Teens can
join the Recreation & Parks Department on this romantic evening at the W.E.
Harris Community Center.

Southeast St. Johns County  Adult Activities
Tennis Clinic - $20.00 for residents and $30.00 for
non-residents. March 2 to May 18, Monday evenings 6:00 to 9:00 at the tennis
courts near Project Swing. Registration will be held at the Recreation and Park Office, 2175 Mizell Road, Monday through Friday, 9:00-4:00 the entire

Triple Crown Junior College Fast Pitch Softball
Tournament - February 7 and 8 at Treaty Park. Junior
colleges from around Florida and Georgia will be participating in

Belly Dancing Classes have started at Ketterlinus Gym on

Coed Volleyball "A" & "B" Divisions Open Gym is being held at Ketterlinus gym on Tuesday, January 13th and Thursday,

Fast, flat and scenic, the Matanzas 5k runs for the 29th
year on January 24th. Race begins at the Events Field on Castillo Drive in St.
Augustine. Chip timing, well-designed shirts and much fun for all! Visit www.ancientcityrr.org/ to

Youth Activities
Middle School Dance Teen Night - January
17th at Ketterlinus Gym, 60 Orange Street. Students must have school
ID and $2 to get in the door. Dance begins at 7:00 p.m. and will end at 9:30

Matanzas 1 Mile Fun Run - On January 24th
children 13 years old and younger can race around St. Augustine. This is a free
event and the first 200 hundred runners over the finish line will receive a
T-shirt and Ribbon for completing the race. The overall Boy and overall Girl
will receive a trophy along with the school that has the most runners will

athleticism or special needs. It promotes the idea of maintaining a healthy
lifestyle through activities that are fun and which stimulate a child's movement
through play. They are offering two exciting classes this Spring:
Half Pints Athletic Development Class for children ages 3 -
4 at Ketterlinus Gym (inside) for 45 Minutes, every Thursday from 11:30 - 12:15

Abrakadoodle - New Mommy & Me Art Classes -
This engaging parent/child class introduces your young, aspiring artist to
color, texture, artists, arty words, and more while experimenting with new and
innovative materials. Little fingers will paint, glue, stick, print, and create
while developing fine motor, language and self-help skills. Parents/caregivers
will learn what they can do to nurture creativity in these young and imaginative
minds. This class is for artists 2-4 years of age. Register for our session that begins February 4th from 9:15-10:00 at Ketterlinus

Abrakadoodle is a program that introduces your child to new
artistic techniques that will ignite their imagination and provide opportunities
for them to explore different forms of media. Two classes are available at the

Twoosy Doodlers is for Young Artists ages 2 - 4, Saturday mornings from 9:15 - 10 a.m.
Doodlers is for ages 6 - 12, on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 - 4:50 p.m.
