Experts around you
The advisory network that professional athletes and entertainers surround themselves with is an important reason why these people can do what they do. Whatever personality or scenario comes to your mind, here are a few of the professionals who support these professionals:
  • Personal trainers
  • Chefs to prepare meals meeting specific nutritional guidelines
  • Manager to handle the day to day business
I'm sure that depending on the personality you're thinking of that you can pinpoint additional support staff that make it possible for the personality to do what he or she does.

What about you?
You deserve a strong advisory network. It's how you support yourself that propels you in your business and in your life.

Depending on what your business involves, here are some options for your advisory network:
  • People who understand the business world like friends and family
  • People whose opinions you respect and value
  • Professionals who have your best interests in mind
  • Business coaches and accountability partners like me who have no emotional involvement with you and will support you as you move toward your goals
Take a minute to consider who is in your advisory network now and who you might consider adding to your network.
It's not what you know, it's WHO you know
You can't know all the answers. Information is doubling every 9 minutes. People are either buried by all this noise or sticking their heads in the sand to avoid it.
Once you identify the people you want to include your advisory group, your next step is to plan for how you are going to keep in contact with these people.
No time for individual lunches? OK. Call these people once a month and visit for 10 minutes. Or go to a place where you know they hang out and hang out with them. Build a relationship.
You don't need to tell them they are in your advisory group. You need to know they are, and you need to know why they are.
