Buddies Go Fly Fishing
On Saturday, May 5th, Trout Unlimited generously hosted a day of fly-fishing for 14 of our Buddies at Lake Christine in Basalt - a perfect day for outdoor education and new adventures!
A first time fishing experience for many of our Buddies, Big and Little, the Buddy Program would like to thank Dan Bullock, President of Trout Unlimited local chapter for organizing the adventure for our Buddies, from coordinating the guides, to planning and preparing breakfast and lunch! It was truly inspirational to see our Buddies in action and smiling ear to ear.

Introducing Megan VanZandt, Development Coordinator
 | |
Megan VanZandt |
The Buddy Program is very pleased to welcome Megan VanZandt to the Buddy Program team! Megan joins us in the position of Development Coordinator, and is already integrated into the team, helping plan for the Bash for the Buddies this July, among other things. Prior to the Buddy Program, Megan worked for over 5 years in event planning and coordination, both in Aspen and the Seattle area. In 2009, Megan received her MBA in Sustainable Business from Bainbridge Graduate Institute. She also holds a B.A. in Ethnobotany from the University of Colorado. Upon completing her graduate degree, Megan traveled and volunteered throughout Thailand for 6 months - working with Burmese migrant children on the Thai border, eventually returning to the Aspen area. Megan has lived off and on in the Aspen area for over 11 years and loves the life style the unique mountain town provides. Some of her favorite activities include rock climbing, hiking, and dancing at outdoor concerts in Snowmass. Please join us in welcoming Megan to the Buddy Program! |
