Buddy Program is Changing Lives!
Dear ,
This year alone, the Buddy Program will provide important developmental services for over 650 youth and their families. Only with your support can we continue our 38 year tradition, providing not only valuable mentor relationships, but also vital benefits that together give youth the building blocks to find their spark, to avoid risks, and to thrive.
Little Buddies know how important the Buddy Program is...
"Thank you so darn much for not giving up on me. I feel like a brand new person knowing that I am not alone and have somebody I can always turn to. Thank you!" Jose, 13
Teachers support the Buddy Program...
"Three of my students were paired with a Big Buddy this year. I have noticed such positive changes from their new relationships: higher self-esteem, more confidence, and future goals." Jill Stokan, Crystal River Elementary School in Carbondale, CO
So do parents...
"What I like about the Buddy Program is the opportunity that this program offers children to interact with other adults, and that it helps to create a healthy relationship with someone safe." Ligia B., mother of 3 boys in the Buddy Program.
With a generous gift from YOU today, we can provide hope and happiness to all local children in need. Please click here to donate online, or call Kate St. Romain at 970-920-2130 to donate directly.
With gratitude,
Catherine Anne Provine

Another Successful Kick-Off for our Peer-to-Peer Program
The Buddy Program's Peer-to-Peer Programs kicked off this October with over 125 high school Big Buddies being matched with youth from the elementary and middle schools in Aspen, Basalt, and Carbondale - a total of 252 youth! In this very popular program, high school volunteers meet their Little Buddies for lunch once a week to play games, talk, listen, eat, and most importantly, get to know each other. Each child benefits by having a responsible and "cool" high school Big Buddy to inspire them both socially and academically; and our high school students learn the importance of commitment and community stewardship. At each of our different pairing parties through out the Valley, there were huge smiles, laughter, and a lot of excitement for all involved.

Thank You Il Mulino for Bringing our Families Together
Generosity abounds in the Roaring Fork Valley and has been made evident by Il Mulino's desire to offer a dinner each month to families involved in the Buddy Program. These families will be able to relax and enjoy one another's company while being served some of the finest cuisine that Aspen has to offer. Eating together is a tradition - a sacred way for families everywhere to maintain and strengthen bonds and be reminded of how special they are to one another. Too often, families do not have the opportunity to sit at a table together because of numerous jobs and busy lives. The time spent together at Il Mulino will surely provide a rare and special opportunity for several of our Buddy Program families. Thank you Il Mulino for sharing the luxurious experience of dining in your beautiful restaurant at the base of Aspen Mountain - one of the most magnificent places in the world. |
