Buddy Ski Day! On a blustery day, over 35 Buddy Pairs took to skiing and snowboarding on Buttermilk Mountain thanks to very generous support from Aspen Skiing Company, Matt Hamilton, Jeff White, Mark Leydecker and Stan Starn. Buddy Pairs were offered free tickets, equipment and lunch at Bumps. Eight children who had never skied or snowboarded received a free lesson. Big Buddies kept up with their Little Buddies in the terrain parks and tree trails and followed each other down the groomers at Buttermilk! Not even grey clouds or windy conditions could dampen their spirits! See below for more exciting Buddy Pair activities coming up!

Policy Tip: Buddy Program Sponsored Activities
When responding for a Buddy Program sponsored activity, please be mindful of the RSVP deadline, as most Buddy Program hosts need ample time to make accommodations for the pairs. Additionally, the Buddy Program pays for sponsored activities; therefore, we strongly encourage you to be mindful of our 24 hour cancellation policy as there are often pairs on a waitlist who are anxious to participate. Remember, any activity completed together is a vehicle used to make your relationship stronger! Please contact a member of the Buddy Program case management team for further guidance and support.

Volunteers Needed! The Buddy Program is proud to be a new member of the foodbank of the Rockie's, Fighting Hunger Feeding Hope, food distribution program. Through this initiative, the Buddy Program has access to food and beverages at very low costs that are then used at our Buddy Pair activities. We are looking for a volunteer willing to drive to pick up the food in New Castle and deliver it to our Basalt office, located at the Basalt Elementary School. The following Tuesdays are scheduled for food pickup: March 16th, April 20th, May 18th, June 22nd, July 20th and August 17th. Please call Lindsay Lofaro if you are interested: 970-927-1001. |
