Introducing FEBulous Experiential Programs
This winter, the Buddy Program will be taking two groups of adolescent boys and girls from the Roaring Fork Valley, to the Harry Gates Hut for a challenging, rewarding and fun experience i n the outdoors. Carrying all their personal belongings, participants will be encouraged to dig deep, step far outside their comfort zone, and persevere as they hike over 2,000 vertical feet, cover 7 miles, and spend two nights as a group at this remote backcountry hut. The secluded location of the hut will provide these local youth with the opportunity to reveal their personal challenges and struggles within a supportive environment. This is a physically and emotionally intense backcountry program designed to address the needs of high risk teens who struggle to cope in home, community and academic settings. These teenagers will be encouraged to take these life skills back to their home environment where it is our goal for them to experience life through a new lens.
For more information regarding the experiential programs, please contact Carleen Joseph. Email: carleen@buddyprogram.org or call (970) 920-2130 ext. 209

Buddies at the X-Games!
There were lots of smiles as Buddy Pairs cheered on athletes at the Winter X-Games.
A special thank you to Big Buddy and ESPN representative, Vanessa Anthes, for coordinating the Buddy Program "Meet and Greet" with X-Games' athletes.

Policy Tip: Buddy Activities and Outings
Successful Big Buddies regularly initiate contact and involve their Little Buddies in planning and creating how they will spend time together. Remember, the majority of your time should be spent one on one with your Little Buddy, so please limit your outing time with the youth's relatives, neighbors and friends. Please contact a member of the Buddy Program case management program team for further guidance and support.
