President's Day Edition
This month we honor the birthdays of two revered U.S. Presidents - George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. As students and educators, there is a great deal we can learn from the way Lincoln led the United States through one of the most tumultuous times in our nation's history.

Lincoln surrounded himself with bright, experienced and well informed civil servants. Several of the members of his cabinet even had a dramatically different perspective on how to direct the nation through a seemingly irreparable split between North and South. During his time in office, Lincoln approached each difficult decision he faced thoughtfully and listened intently to the ideas his cabinet recommended. Through this approach, Lincoln fully grasped the ramifications of his decisions and took into account the many sides of complex political issues.

Today, while our students don't hold the fate of a deteriorating nation in the palm of their hands, they do have to tackle a myriad of academic challenges. Like Lincoln, our students are surrounded with fantastic resources to learn from including parents, teachers, tutors, and friends. Whether crafting a history research report or preparing for a standardized test, it's important for our students to approach the various facets of each challenge with respect and a willingness to listen to the insights offered by great team of supporters around them.

Similarly, at Private Prep, we recognize that our students face these challenges.  We understand that each student learns differently and we are prepared to provide the appropriate teaching techniques for each student's individual needs. This thoughtful approach to our lessons and the way we operate our business encompasses our Core Values of Optimism, Entrepreneurial Spirit and Evolution.
