January 2010

Welcome Back!
Welcome back from winter break! We hope you had a chance to relax on vacation or spend time with family over the holidays. Between midterms and upcoming standardized tests, January is a critical month for our students. Below are three tips to help our students hit the ground running this month:

  • Review past tests and assignments. It's easy to overlook completed work, but review is a crucial study habit. This is particularly important for subjects and concepts that are cumulative such as foreign languages and math.
  • Use organized lists and charts. By categorizing material, studying often becomes more manageable than trying to tackle large quantities of information at once. Additionally, associations can help with the retention of information.
  • Create a study plan. Between school, after-school activities and a social life, time is at a premium. Much like when approaching an essay, a few minutes of outlining a study plan upfront can save a lot of time and stress during study sessions.

And of course our fantastic team is available to help out! Please do not hesitate to contact us during this busy time of the school year.
