A Dragonfly Lands in Sandy Springs!
7 artists 6 sculptures 1 AMAZING city

*******************************
As you have probably heard (or seen!), the 50-ft long brick climbing slide "Dragonfly" is in the process of being constructed onsite at the Abernathy Greenway in Sandy Spring by the talented award-winning artists Alexis Gregg and Tanner Coleman.
Left below is a studio shot of the seven thousand hand formed and glazed bricks which have since been transported to the Abernathy Greenway for final construction of the "Dragonfly."
Right below is a shot at the Abernathy Greenway -- the home of the Playable Art Park -- with many of the people working behind the scenes to make Playable Art Park a reality. L to R: "Dragonfly" artist Tanner Coleman, Executive Director of the Sandy Springs Conservancy Linda Bain, ArtSS President Cheri Morris, Sandy Springs Neighbor reporter Noreen Cochran, and "Dragonfly" artist Alexis Gregg talk about the jigsaw process of building the sculpture.
The photo below, taken at the artists' studio in Mississippi, is the final head carving of "Dragonfly" as it will emerge at the Playable Art Park after bricks are reassembled in the next six weeks.
The finished Dragonfly will measure 50 ft long, 8.5 ft tall and 42 ft wide with wingspan!
