Experience the acclaimed film October Sky, based on the book Rocket Boys, on a huge outdoor screen under the stars. The movie, which will begin playing at dusk, takes place in the heart of Sandy Springs on the terraced lawn of the Sandy Springs UMC Hitson Activity Center. Refreshments will be available at the concession stand. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Local entertainment will begin at 6:30 pm.

Mary Roberts, with Youth Engaged in Science (YES!), will demonstrate the wizardry of rocketry through the use of Lego Mindstorm robotics. Mary is also a FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Senior Mentor and coordinates many FLL events. FLL is a robotics program designed to get children excited about science and technology, as well as teach them valuable employment and life skills. Learn about rocketry, robotics and how you can start or get involved in a local FLL team. For 4th grade through high school students.
