topGreetings!

Spring is here and so is "ArtSSpring" which brings 30 days of exciting events for all of us to enjoy.

In the spirit of Spring and everything new, I am delighted to tell you that Art Sandy Springs has freshened its look a bit on our website and newsletter. Let us know what you think!

There is something for everyone to enjoy and share this time of year, from "Show Stoppers," out citywide children's talent show, to "Rocket Boys," our inaugural Sandy Springs Reads program, from Faerie House workshops to fine art shows, and from classical music to rock and roll.

Please help us share this exciting information. Forward this newsletter to your friends and make plans to enjoy these spring activities together. The more support we have for arts and culture in Sandy Springs, the more we can provide to our citizens.

Spring is a time to grow and we hope you will help Art Sandy Springs grow by joining today if you are not a member and encouraging a friend to join.

We need you! Enjoy spring everyone and I look forward to seeing you around town--

2012 Art Sandy Springs Artist of the Year
William H. (Bill) Harrison, AIA

Artist of the Year 2012

Art Sandy Springs is pleased to announce that the 2012 Art Sandy Springs Artist of the Year is William H. (Bill) Harrison, founding principal of the prestigious and award-winning Harrison Design Associates, Inc. firm: residential architects, designers, landscape architects and interior designers in the high-end real estate market. Bill and his talented team have been pioneers in many ways in the world of architecture, including creating the first house in the Southeast to be certified by three of the country's leading green initiatives and setting the benchmark for "environmentally friendly" homes.

Bill was honored last week at the Art Sandy Springs Action Board Meeting, where he generously donated several hundred of his beautiful coffee table books to Art Sandy Springs. ArtSS will sell the books for $30 and all proceeds will go toward promoting arts and culture in Sandy Springs.

Bill Harrison is a leading, internationally recognized architect and resident of Sandy Springs. His award winning designs can be seen in beautiful homes and commercial buildings throughout Atlanta, across the country and around the globe. Harrison Design Associates, Inc., of which Bill is founding principal, has flourished over the past 20 years and expanded to six offices in the U.S. and a new location in Shanghai, China.

Bill's philosophy is simple: "Architecture is more than a career, but an art that represents many lifetimes rolled into a lifelong passion meant to be lived and breathed."

Thank you, Bill Harrison, for giving Sandy Springs and our world such beautiful works of art in our commercial and residential communities. You are an inspiration to us all!
