Intramural Day October 22nd, 2010

On Friday, October 22nd all students will be participating in an intramural run throughout the campus. The run will begin at 10:30am.
Because of the run, students are allowed to wear their sports uniform to school. Parents are also reminded that due to the projected cold temperatures to please send your child with appropriate winter wear (jacket, hat, mits etc). They will be running at times,and will remain outside between runs and therefore should be prepared.

Parent Classroom Visits
|
 All Venta parents are invited to visit their child's classroom on Friday October 22nd from 3pm to 4pm. During this time, parents will have the opportunity to tour their child's classroom and learn more about the work he or she has been doing in class. Each student will be responbile for showing their parent around; however each teacher will also be available to answer any questions that parents may have.

Parent Committee Meeting-October 27th, 2010

On Wednesday October 27th at 4:15pm the Venta Preparatory Parent Committee will be holding our monthly meeting.

Venta Halloween Party-Friday October 29th 1-4pm
|
Venta will be holding the annual Haloween Party in the afternoon of Friday October 29th. All students w ill be participating and are to bring an appropriate costume to school. Students will have the opportunity to change into their costumes in the afternoon and are required to arrive in the school uniform. Be sure your child's costume is warm enough as there will be outdoor activities occurring. As well, these costumes should be safe enough to walk, run and dance in. Parents are also reminded that students are not permitted to bring any candy to school.

Venta Vipers Update and Results

On Wednesday, October 20th, the Venta Vipers Cross Country running club participated in the NCSSAA cross country meeting at Mooney's Bay. Congratulations to all that participated!
The results are as follows:
Stats from the NCSSAA western conference championships:
In Junior Girls (4 kilometers)
Catherine O'Connell came in 46th out of 66 with a time of 21:55;
and Jodi Stinson came in 55th out of 66 with a time of 25:55.
In Junior Boys (6kilometers)
Ryan Thomsen came in 44th out of 51 with a time of 31:21.
In Midget Boys (5 kilometers)
Justice Iris came in 45th out of 79 with a time of 23:90;
Philipp Fortin came in 51st out of 79 with a time of 24:24;
and Patric Ryser came in 68th out of 79 with a time of 26:38.

New Addition to the Venta Family!

 On Wednesday October 20th, the Venta Junior 6 teacher Misha Costescu and his wife Nikki welcomed their new son Avery into this world. Avery weighed 9lbs 1 oz and is joining older brother Ethan and older sister Layla. Congratulations to the Costescu family!
