1st Venta Preparatory School Parent Committee Meeting
The Venta Parent Fundraising Comittee is a group of active parents, who throughout the year participate in a variety of fundraising efforts. All funds that are raised by the commitee go directly back into the school towards the purchase of a variety of items on the staff and student's wish list. Our primary fundraising objective for the 2009-2010 school year was to replace the outdoor hockey boards. We are pleased to report that the funds have been raised and the boards have now been delivered.
The planning of events and activities for the 2010-2011 school year has begun. The committee is holding their first meeting on Wednesday September 29th, 2010 at 4pm. The committee is always looking for new members, so any new Venta parents or returning parents that would like to get involved, please join us.
On Friday October 1st, at 4:00pm in the library, there will be an information session for all interested students and parents as well as current participants for the 2011 school trip to Costa Rica.
For the past 17 years, Venta Preparatory School has participated in many trips overseas. Some of these trips have included Australia, Italy, Greece, Paris and England. These trips have been run by EF Tours. For 2011, we will be travelling to Costa Rica.
This trip is open to all students (and their parents) in grade 7 or older.
At the meeting, we will be covering the following: · Cost · Dates of travel · Itinerary · Registration Information/Procedure · Chaperones · General information There will also be a Power Point presentation on the specific tour itself for parents to have a better idea of what we will be seeing.

Photo Day-Wednesday September 29th 2010
Wednesday, September 29th, 2010 is photo day at Venta Preparatory School. On this day, please ensure that all students arrive in full uniform in preparation for their photos. Photo day reminders will be sent home with all parents on Friday September 24th, 2010.
With all new students finding homes in their intramural houses, we are ready to kick off the 2010-2011 Intramural season.
Thursday September 23rd will be the 1st Junior Intramural day. Our first intramural sport of the year (and a new addition to the program), is ultimate frisbee.
Students are required to arrive in # 1 unifrom and will be given the opportunity to change to their sports uniform before intramurals begin.
Senior Intramural ultimate Frisbee will be rescheduled to a later date.
