| Congratulations to the Venta Science Fair Winners! |
| Once again our students wowed the judges with their excellent Science Fair projects! This year was particularly special due to the kindness of our parents and local companies as the students were able to receive more recognition than usual. Well done to everyone.
The Ottawa Regional Science Fair is on April 9 and 10 at Hillcrest High School. All Venta students in Junior 5 - Grade 10 ,who received a medal are invited to attend the ORSF.

| Venta Students to Accept Canadian Flag from Peace Tower: |
|
On Monday, March 29 the Grade 10 class will be part of a small group accepting the Canadian flag from the Peace Tower.
This is in conjunction with our school trip to Europe to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Victory in Europe. The Prime Minister of Canada will present the flag to the students, who in turn will present it at a ceremony on May 5th in The Netherlands. The ceremony will officially celebrate the liberation of the Netherlands by the Canadians.
Venta is sending over 25 students, staff and parents to participate in the VE Day ceremonies in Europe. |
| 7th Annual Loonie Auction, Friday, April 16: |
| The Parent Fundraising Committee is pleased to announce that the 7th Loonie Auction will take place at the Carp Agricultural Hall from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 16. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children under the age of 6 are free.
Parents can support this auction two ways. 1. Attend the event and bid on items for as little as $1. 2. Donate items to the auction.
DONATION REQUEST!
There is a live auction of items such as cash, spa packages, gift certificates, IPOD's and , MP3 players for example. We also have a silent auction table that has included golf memberships, power tools and, Ottawa Senators memorabilia. Venta parents and families can contribute by requesting donations from employers and local businesses. All donations can be left with Tracey Quinn.
Do you have a favourite restaurant or spa that you frequent on a regular basis? Ask them to donate to the auction! All proceeds are going to fulfill this year's teachers' wish list! An example of one item on the list is to re-do the track and install weeping tiles in order to support our track and field programme and our membership to the NCSSAA.
This is a great cause and we hope you can support us. You can find more information under the Quick Links section of this newsletter or on the Parent Committee Page of our web-site.
Thank you in advance for your support! |
| Junior 3,4 and 5 "Hockey Night in Kanata": |

Most families with children in Junior 3, 4 and 5 are attending an Ottawa Senators game on April 1st!
