Public Speaking - Friday, December 4:
Dear Parents:

The students are busy preparing and practising their speeches for the classroom presentations.  The winners from each class will give their speeches to the entire school on Friday, December 4 starting at 1:00 p.m.

All parents are invited to attend.  Parents will be contacted if their child is chosen to compete on Friday.
Chicken Pox:
For your information there has been one case of the chicken pox in the junior school. The child concerned is past the contagious stage.
Venta Students Clear 2KM Trail on School Property:

Over the past week Venta students have volunteered to cut a 2km long trail around the perimeter of the property.

The trail was designed for several purposes. First it will be used as a practice trail for the Venta Running Club as well as for in-school races and hosting multi-school races.

In addition, the trail will be used for snowshoeing as part of the Phys. Ed. programme with plans to install "workout stations" around the track to make it a fitness loop.

We have also installed "nature observation" stations for the younger students.

The students are currently raising funds, by selling Venta Casual Wear, to plant trees to replace the ones which were cut down. The Grade 8 class has done a survey of the indigenous trees and soil so they can choose appropriate trees to be planted.

A big thank you to Mr. Spratt for spear-heading this great addition to the Venta programme!

Venta Students Winners!
Congratulations to Nitara Duthie and Shaun Lee for placing first and third respectively in the 2009 Remembrance Day Poster Contest!
Have you placed your magazine order yet?  It is not too late!
A reminder to all parents that you can place your magazine orders by clicking on the link located on the left navigation bar of the school website. This is a great way to support the school's fundraising for new hockey boards, as well as save money on magazine subscriptions.

Not able to order on-line?

We are still accepting paper orders until December 11.  Please deliver the paperwork directly to me.  Thank you!
