| J1 and J2 Visit to Saunder's Farm Thursday, October 29: |
| The Junior 1 and Junior 2 students will visit Saunder's Farm on Thursday! Parents are reminded to make sure the children are wearing their sports uniform and are dressed for the weather. I am sure they will have a great time! |
| Halloween Party - Friday, October 30: |

The students are looking forward to the Venta Halloween Party that will take place on Friday, October 30 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Students are to bring their costumes to school in the morning as they will have the opportunity to change over lunch recess. They can look forward to an afternoon of games and of course the Halloween Dance!
The school will provide all the food so please do not send your child to school with candy etc. for the party. Thank you! |
| AV Club - Message from Mr. McDonald: |
Dear Parents,
I am writing today to let you know about the AV club here at Venta. In the club, the students learn to take photos of people and scenery. They then go out and on their recesses and lunch hours, take many, many photos of their friends, students and staff. Later, we get together as a group and use the photos to create the video yearbook DVD that we sell at the end of the year and at the Christmas Craft sale. Students have involvement in the themes we create, the music we choose and the photos we present. Any student from junior 5 up to Grade 10 is able to join.
This year, we are expanding the AV club to include video DVDs of the many events that occur here at Venta. Using my own video camera, our plan is to create a catalogue of events that parents can choose to order from. Some of the events we plan on recording include the Christmas Concert, the public speeches, intramural events, graduation ceremonies, and any others we can think of. Afterwards, parents can let me know through e-mail if they are interested in order a DVD of the event we recorded. For example, if cannot attend the public speeches, but would like to see a DVD of the event, we'd be happy to create a DVD for you. There will be a small fee for each DVD, all of which will be used to continue to raise funds for the school for equipment.
In a later e-mail, I will be sending a document listing all the events we already have recorded as well as future ones. Our first DVD is highlights of intramurals (Touch Football). If any parents are interested in ordering a DVD of this event, please e-mail me at amcdonald@ventapreparatoryschool.com

| Grade 9 Take Our Kids to Work Day: |
| On Wednesday November 4, Grade 9 students across Canada will participate in Take Our Kids to Work Day. Our Grade 9 students will spend the day job shadowing a parent, friend or relative. Have fun! |
