Welcome back to another edition of BNE's Good News Weekly!  Before starting your weekend, check out the good news on the region's latest job numbers released this week!
Windy City Latest Stop for BNE Dental Campaign

The last week of February saw BNE's business development staff very busy in the windy city with our participation in two separate shows - the Chicago Dental Society Mid-Winter Meeting and the Lab Management Today (LMT) Lab Day Chicago.  Our participation in these two events is an extension of last year's Dental Laboratories and Dental Product Manufacturing Campaign

The mid-winter meeting attracted over 31,000 dentists, dental students and dental office practitioners.  Included in that number were more than 9,000 exhibitors representing a wide array of dental product manufacturing companies.  The strength of this burgeoning industry in our region could be seen through the strong contingent of Buffalo Niagara dental companies in attendance, including Ivoclar Vivadent, Rose Micro Solutions and Mini Dental Implant Solutions.  Over 500 exhibitors received our e-mail blast before the meeting and our staff met personally with 25 new contacts.

Over 3,000 attendees and 150 exhibitors from 47 states and 49 countries took part in LMT Lab Day Chicago.  Among the participants were lab technicians, lab owners and manufacturers of laboratory products like milling machines and dental materials.  In addition to the wealth of industry intelligence gathered, our business development staff conducted 15 separate meetings that have already generated one new lead.

Food Products & Processing Drives Agribusiness Cluster

The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA) annual show is the leading foodservice and hospitality event in Canada.  The over 1,200 exhibitors showcasing a comprehensive forum of the latest industry products helped to draw our attention and participation in Toronto last week.

Our business development staff gathered a wealth of industry intelligence ranging from new trends in foodservice and the latest in energy efficient equipment to growing segments of the market.  Our staff made approximately 30 new industry contacts that we are now working through that have the potential to develop 8-10 new agribusiness leads.

Food products and food processing are very active subsectors that have been driving BNE activities in the agribusiness industry cluster as of late, evidenced by project wins like Alpina Foods last year in Genesee County and Nutrablend Foods second expansion in the Town of Lancaster this past November.

To learn more about our agribusiness development efforts and opportunities in this industry, contact BNE Business Development Manager Carolyn Powell at (716) 842-1357, ext. 104 or cpowell@buffaloniagara.org.

Buffalo Niagara ::
Where Life Works

Tell Us How Buffalo Niagara Works for You

"A lot of people in the television news business don't stay in one place for long, but I always find that many who
leave the Buffalo area eventually end up trying to come back. Why? It's the great people, great entertainment, great restaurants, great schools, and great sense of community. And, unlike bigger cities, it's all at an affordable
price with a lot less inconvenience. Come and see for yourself. Life is good in Buffalo Niagara!"
