BNE Announces 3 Canadian Wins, New Video

BNE Announces Three Canadian Wins

Our marketing, business and economic development efforts north of the border continue to pay dividends as we announced this week the attraction of three more Canadian companies to the region in as many months.

In November Nutrablend foods finalized plans for their second expansion here, while December saw Avanti Advanced Manufacturing Corporation announce their first U.S. operation. In January, Blockbuster Costumes confirmed that they would be the next Canadian based company to locate in western New York.

These companies are classified in the agribusiness, advanced manufacturing and logistics & distribution targeted industry clusters, and will bring a total of 35 new jobs and just over $1million of investment into the region. Electro Sonic Next Up in "A Million Reasons" Video Series

As we head into March our business attraction efforts in Canada continue with the premier of a new video this week featuring Electro Sonic, Canada's largest distributor of electrical and electronic components that found a home in the Riverview Solar Technology Park in Tonawanda, NY. A 2010 BNE project win, Electro Sonic is Canada's largest distributor of electrical and electronic components.

In the video, President Eric Taylor explains why the third generation, family-owned company selected the Buffalo Niagara region as the place to locate their North American distribution center and how that decision has benefitted the company and its employees.

This video is part of BNE's "A Million Reasons to Expand Your Business to Buffalo Niagara" marketing initiative and another item in our tool kit to attract Canadian businesses to our region. Advertising, postcard mailings and e-communications tactics are also supporting this campaign. The first three videos in the campaign can also be found on our website, and our BNE YouTube page. Check them out and make sure you share them with as many people as possible.
