Welcome to a special Thursday edition of BNE's Good News Weekly! |
| What opportunities are in store with Marcellus Shale? | |
This is a question being asked by BNE's Research Department and countless other companies across the region exploring new potential markets and growth prospects to strengthen their bottom lines. It is also the topic of the next Business Leadership Forum seminar entitled Marcellus Shale: A Growth Story - How Can your Company Benefit? The event will take place Tuesday, November 29th from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the Burchfield Penney Art Center on the campus of Buffalo State College. Click here for more information and to register.
Other states that permit Marcellus Shale drilling have experienced impactful economic success stories that have led to wider discussions in our region about the spin-off effects that may occur when New York State completes their regulatory due diligence on this industry. This forum brings together industry experts who will cover an array of meaningful topics from equipment and vendor supply chains to infrastructure build out & construction needs. BNE staff will be in attendance and I would encourage all interested parties to do the same. |

Buffalo Niagara :: Where Life Works | | Tell Us How Buffalo Niagara Works for You | |
"Like too many Western New Yorkers, I moved out of the area after college in search of better opportunities. After 9 years in the Washington DC marketplace, I returned to Western New York. Being away allowed me the opportunity to appreciate all that this area has to offer. The combination of our beautiful seasons, cultural activities, sporting events, housing costs, recreational activities, education systems, result in a diverse area perfect for raising a family. However the unadvertised commodity is the people. The hardworking, caring friends, neighbors and strangers that make up this area. From the October Storm, to the block parties and numerous ethnic festivals, this area comes together, like no other I have seen. Buffalo is a great place to live and a place I am proud to be from."
