BNE to Attend Greater NY Dental Meeting
| |
Later this month I will be travelling downstate to attend the largest dental congress and exposition in the United States. The Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM) is the premier industry event in North America, drawing over 58,000 attendees last year and over 500 exhibitors. This is the next major step in BNE's marketing/business attraction effort targeting the dental product manufacturing and dental laboratory subsectors.
Earlier this year, I attended the International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany, the world's largest such conference and exhibition. There, our message to the industry was validated as approximately twenty European companies expressed significant interest in expanding into North America and Buffalo Niagara in particular. The GNYDM will provide me an excellent opportunity to reconnect with many of these companies and to identify additional firms that will recognize our region's strong assets in this arena.
I recently had the opportunity to walk the floor at the 34th annual Buffalo Niagara Dental Meeting, Upstate New York's premier dental event. There I was able to reconnect with several local industry leaders, including Dr. Michael Glick, Dean of the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine (SDM) and meet several new contacts as well. I want to thank and commend the leaders and members of the UB Dental Alumni Association for coordinating this excellent event.

| Life Sciences Industry & BNMC Well Represented in Council's Final Plan | |
The Western New York Regional Economic Development Council has finalized its five-year strategic plan, including identifying twenty "priority projects," and submitted it for Albany review on November 14. The Life Sciences industry was well represented throughout the planning process and this has borne fruit in the final plan. Four of the twenty priority projects fall directly within the life sciences realm, three of which are centered on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. [Read Full Story] [Download Full Plan] |
