The Callaghan Valley bid highlighted the significant athlete
development taking place in the Sea to Sky corridor among the 5 founding clubs that will make up the Organizing Committee. The CVCCSC includes representatives from the Hollyburn Cross Country Ski Club and the Nordic Racers, both based in Vancouver, the Squamish Nordics, the Whistler Nordics and the Spud Valley Ski Club in Pemberton. The OC will also take advantage of the legacy of high quality officials developed leading up to the Olympics from all regions of BC.

Cross Country Canada to Launch New Website in September 2011 Credit: Wanda Bogdane
Cross Country Canada is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of cccski.com this fall. Using feedback received from athletes, members, clubs and divisions from across the country, the organization is aiming to produce a website that retains the valuable components from the most current site originally built in 2006, while advancing the online functionality and interactivity.
"The vision behind the refresh is to offer site users a higher ease of navigation and searchability, in addition to a cleaner look with more streamlined content." said executive director Davin MacIntosh.
Though the site will be unveiled in September, updates will be ongoing until the start of the competition season. If during this time you encounter any issues, we appreciate your patience and encourage you to email us with the page of issue.
Thank you!

''I Want to Get Better and Better' Credit: Ben Leeson, The Sudbury Star
Devon Kershaw entered the 2010-11 cross-country ski season with a healthy appetite.
Rather than be satisfied with a series of fine finishes at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver -- fifth in the 50-kilometre event, fourth in team sprint and seventh in relay, part of the best-ever finish by the Canadian men's team -- the Sudbury native was all the more determined to sink his teeth into a medal.

Para-Nordic Profile: Walden's Para-Nordic Program Has Changed My Life By: Alissa Langman
Being involved in Walden's Para-Nordic Program has changed my life tremendously. Ever since joining the program, my lifestyle has completely changed. I now feel as though I have more self confidence, as before, I felt I had little to be proud of and I barely did any physical activities. Walking was enough for me as at times it was a big enough challenge.
When I first started with the Para-Nordic skiing program I skied in a sit-ski because I was not strong enough or felt I didn't have the balance to ski standing. Everything has changed since then, walking has become so much easier. I started skiing standing last winter and I loved it. I went to OFSAA this year where I won second place in my sit-ski (the last time I will ever be in a sit-ski), a competition I never thought I would attend.
