Thank you...Credit: Wanda Bogdane
As we emerge from CCC's strategic planning phase for the coming year and reflect on the phenomenal season that just closed, it strikes us the substantial impact that our sponsors and supporters have had on our sport.
It's hard to know how many people understand the powerful role that sponsors play. There are infinite areas they help us realize from that one essential training camp for an athlete on the brink of a breakthrough to ensuring that key programs - often the quiet yet vital programs - exist to provide depth to the technical foundation of our sport. Their support enables our athletes to access the best gear in the industry, hire the right staff for critical corners of the organization and ensure that young athletes across our vast country have the chance to experience the joy of cross country skiing.
To our countless suppliers to our volunteers to the generous corporate sponsors who walk alongside us as we work to fulfill our vision... "It takes a ski community to raise Olympic medallists." Given the many ways our sponsors and supporters have helped CCC, we would like to extend our warmest THANK YOU!

Para-Nordic: Winter Challenge
Challenge Hivernal is a multisport event that takes place in Greater Quebec, with competitions and opportunities to try out four adapted sports (Sledge hockey, Wheelchair curling, Para-Alpine skiing and Para-Nordic skiing).
During the first edition last March, the Challenge welcomed about a hundred athletes in competitive and recreational streams. At the Para-Nordic ski race, organized in cooperation with Club Castor-Kanik, and held at the Valcartier military base, the prevailing ambience was one of healthy competition and fun. Six high level athletes contested a tight and highly emotional race. After the event, the racers stuck around and offered words of advice and encouragement to newcomers who had come to try their hand at Para-Nordic skiing.
The 2011 event was a huge success, and preparations are already underway for a second edition in Winter 2012. We hope to see a huge crowd there!

Club Profile: Mother's Day Ski with the Menihek Nordic Ski Club Credit: Gerry Rideout
Fourteen women had a most enjoyable ski on Mother's Day May 8th, 2011. They all met at the Chalet, and then went for an 8Km on the Birches & Alf's summit with unbelievably conditions that were close to excellent and all had fun. Back at the chalet, excitement was in the air, conversation was rampant and the ladies had quite an enjoyable social with lots of food and sweets. What!! Some were heard to say, they were looking forward to ski on May 24th.
