Greetings!,
mir·a·cle (m r-k l) n. 1. An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God.
Have you ever prayed for a miracle? Stop just a second and remember what that prayer was about. Prayers for miracles are not prayed for unimportant things. They are not lifted up for petty requests. Miracle prayers are heartfelt and gut wrenching. These are the prayers that are prayed from a broken heart with full knowledge that, unless God intervenes, disaster is imminent.
Many of us have either said or thought, "I want to see a miracle!" It sounds exciting and certainly would be faith building! Unfortunately, the only times that we need miracles are in the face of impending loss. It may be the loss of life or future hopes, but definitely involves loss and the expectation of suffering. For us to see a miracle, someone first has to suffer. Healthy people don't need miracles for healing. Wealthy people don't need financial miracles. When things are calm and there seems to be no immediate danger, no miracle is required. So if we are to see a miracle, something has to be seriously wrong somewhere! Yes, we want to see miracles, but we don't like the suffering that leads up to God's ability being showcased for all the world to see.
Today, we find ourselves in need of a miracle. Patronela, the adult orphan woman that we have been working with, has left Sibiu and returned to stay with her boyfriend. Unfortunately, she doesn't understand the danger this puts her in. He is abusive and takes all of her small pension that she receives for her handicap. She just wants someone to love her and not require her to be responsible.
This leaves Alexandra, the sweet little 15 month old that we have been caring for, in grave danger, since Patronela is her legal guardian and wants to take the baby with her. Only God knows the conditions this child would live in and the situations she would have to face if she were given to her mother to raise. For Alexandra's sake, we are asking God for a miracle! She is only one of many millions of children around the world facing desperate situations, but she is the one God has given us to protect. Please join with us in prayer to ask the Father for a miracle on her behalf!

Praise report:Today we signed a rental contract on a house for the women's shelter!!! We are excited to be a part of this vision that God has given to Mimi. Many times recently I have remembered the line from the movie "Field of Dreams"... "If you build it, they will come." As of today, no one is waiting in line to get into this facility. The one woman we thought would be first has left the area. But we know that what God has in His heart for these precious, scared, and hopeless women, He shared with Mimi. He knows their names already. We will know soon. Please pray for us as we launch out into new territory and build God's kingdom one person at a time. Each is precious to Him!!! | | In front of the new women's shelter-Stephanie, Leslie. Alexandra, Sebi, and Mimi |
There are still many preparations to make for the arrival of these women, but this part of preparing for the winter in Romania is complete. Pickles and pickled peppers will not be lacking in our house !
Though many steps remain to be taken for the shelter to be ready to receive it's first occupants, we are believing God to provide all that is needed. Furniture, bedding, dishes...everything that is needed for a household will be required, but we know that these things are miniscule in comparison to the healing of a heart and the salvation of a soul! God can do it all! What a blessing to serve a God that is big enough! Thank you for your continued prayers and support. You are appreciated more than you will ever know!
Going for Him,
Leslie and Stephanie
