Dear ,
"Never the same day twice" would be a good way to describe the past month. Some periods are just that way. Unexpected circumstances bring you face to face with situations that require action. There's not always a lot of time to pray and think. Sometimes something just has to be done. The need must be met.
We use the word "need" flippantly many times. "I need some new clothes", "I need a cup of coffee", or "I need that new _________" (you fill in the blank). Here's the definition of "need" according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary:
need noun \ˈnēd\
2
a : a lack of something requisite, desirable, or useful b : a physiological or psychological requirement for the well-being of an organism
3
: a condition requiring supply or relief
4
: lack of the means of subsistence : poverty
A phone call recently led us to a need. We were informed about a woman who was recently left destitute after her boyfriend was struck

by a car and killed while riding his bicycle. She has two small children ages 6 months and 2 years. She has no job, no family, and no hope. She tried to give her children to the state, but was denied. She just doesn't know how to provide for them. With no childcare available, she feels hopeless to find work. Now her boyfriend's family wants to sell his apartment where she is staying with her two children. She needs a miracle!

circumstance led us to a woman living in a borrowed shack with her three children. She has no money, a boyfriend that shows up on occasion, and a 14 month old little girl with clubbed feet that have left her unable to walk. If there is no intervention for this child, she will, most likely, be a beggar. She needs help now! And then, there are our three young orphanage survivor friends that we have invited to move to Sibiu to find work. They are homeless, two are jobless (the third works illegally), and all three are without direction. On August 10th, they are scheduled to move to Sibiu and we will begin helping them build their lives. They need people to love them and teach them.
Everyday, we are all given opportunities to get involved in the needs of others. May God give us all wisdom, courage, and resources so that we may be a picture of Christ to those who are desperate. Jesus taught us to pray "Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven". We can all be a part of this process...for His glory!
Going for Him,
Stephanie and Leslie
P.S. Below is a short video of some recent happenings. Thanks to Laura, Pat, and Kim for investing yourselves in these girls!
