Men, you have tremendous power to make a difference in the world. God has blessed you with the ability to impact lives for generations just by what you do and don't do today. Please don't waste that power. Look for ways to get involved and make a difference--you will not regret it!
Here are just a few ways men or women can volunteer with Better Dads:
1) Part time office help (administrative assistant) 2) Promotional Activities (promoting seminars, fund raisers, donors, etc.) 3) Childcare (watching children during single mom's seminars) 4) Catering (catering events, seminars, etc.) 5) Research assistant 6) Introduce us to your pastor or a business leader who might want to partner with us to change the world! 7) Help with set-up and tear down at seminars (must be able to lift 50 pounds)
8) Mentors for fatherless boys and at camp |

Dear Friends,
As the most wonderful time of the year approaches, I just wanted to take a moment to say "thank you" to all of our friends and volunteers from the past year. Without your help we would not be able to touch the lives of so many men, women, and children who desperately need the services we offer. Your generous gift of time, money, and prayer allows us to help change the lives of single moms, fatherless boys, fathers and men, prison inmates, and families at risk. Please don't think for a moment that we do not recognize that your contributions (whatever they look like) are just as valuable and as much a part of our team as anything we might accomplish.
Thank you all again. Merry Christmas and may God bless you and your family this season and the coming year. |
| Engaging Men--Is It Possible?
As I travel around the country speaking the number one question I am asked is, "How can we engage and motivate men to be involved?" Clearly, this is an issue that affects everyone. The Big Brothers/Big Sisters program here in Portland reports that they have a waiting list of 900 boys with an average wait time of three years because they cannot find male mentors to be involved. So how do we engage men? Is it even possible? I believe it is, but we have to first understand some things that are important to motivating men. Here are some key factors to encouraging and inspiring men to make a difference in the world:

Partner With Us!
Every year Better Dads holds some sort of fund raising event. Last year we hosted a fund raising dinner and this year we were targeted to be part of a fund raising event sponsored by several community and business organizations. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, that event was rescheduled until next year leaving us without a fund raising event this year.
While I am never comfortable asking for donations (especially during the current economic climate) I also know that people who have donated to Better Dads in the past have received wonderful blessings in return by what their contributions have done in the lives of hurting and discouraged people.
If you are looking for an organization to contribute to this season please consider partnering with Better Dads. Send your contributions to:
