Greetings!
 | | My grandmother Annette, just after emigrating |
They always say "write what you know." Though I often write about my family (maybe a bit too much at times), I had a powerful experience this week related to family history videos that I feel compelled to share in this month's article. I think many of you will relate.
This month's video clip is a great example of a family history project on a budget. For those that might be considering, be sure to ask about our Hybrid Package.
I know this is a busy time of year for many. Wishing you an easy transition to the start of my favorite season - summer!
Warmly,
Debbie Brodsky DMB Pictures, LLC P.S. I love hearing from you. Send me an email anytime. |

When in Korea...
Rachel wanted to record her parents' stories while they were still healthy and able to do so. She also knew she wanted to include some pictures, but didn't necessarily want to invest in a feature-length documentary film. So she chose the Hybrid Package. A step above a DVD with indexed raw footage, it takes out the interviewer's questions, replaces them with motion graphic titles, and sprinkles relevant pictures throughout.
The result is a great way to capture family stories in a comprehensive way that stays within budget. This clip is an excerpt from Bill & Elaine's experiences in Korea. Just from the odd-shaped table in the picture above, you know there's got to be a good story there!

Raving Fan
I have always loved genealogy and recording family history and have tried several times to record our family stories. We have bits and pieces in many formats and many locations. When I found Debbie it became so easy. With our DVD from Debbie, everything was all together and beautifully filmed. The staging and organization are so well done and all in one place! I am proud and relieved to have this to share with my boys.

Bringing Great-Grandma's Voice to Life
My son told me excitedly the other night how his teacher's brother still had his French accent because he came here when he was 12. I was sad that he had forgotten the stories of his namesake great-grandma, who also came to America at age 12 and kept her fabulous Russian accent. Then I got excited. "Do you want to hear what she sounded like?" Read more...
