New Television Season Starts This Week!
By Capt. Cefus McRae
Cool off this summer with ALL NEW episodes of The Nuts & Bolts of Fishing and Boating. We've been busy on the water and in the edit suite to launch a new broadcast season that starts this Sunday morning.
The first season has been a huge success and feedback from viewers continues to be overwhelmingly positive. Nuts & Bolts has captured a loyal audience and our ratings have placed us in the top tier of outdoor programs on FSN. And for that, I want to express a heartfelt Thank You to everyone. We will continue to do our best to produce shows that are informative, contemporary and fun to watch.
So what's on tap for the coming season?
How about Nighttime mangrove snapper fishing? Never fished on the open ocean at night? Well you ought to give it a try.
Topwater striper fishing. Explosive strikes on topwater plugs in very unlikely conditions.
Our annual ICAST episode. See the new fishing toys and gadgets that will be on retail shelves next year.
Go fishing with cannonballs. Actually cannonball jellyfish - it's about the only thing spadefish will eat. Catch some of the jellies and load the boat with spadefish.
And of course one of the most anticipated episodes - The Great Grouper Getaway. Winner Pete doCouto and his son go on the adventure of a lifetime with the Nuts & Bolts Pro's.
And that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. There's more fishing techniques, boating skills, great recipes, Buck, The Wonder Dog and the next Getaway Giveaway coming your way every Sunday morning and Thursday's at noon.
Thanks again for a great first season. And we're looking forward to many more.

Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA is famous for its beautiful gardens, golf courses and natural beauty. And probably one of the best kept secrets is the excellent fishing opportunities that await the avid fly or spin fisherman. Kingfisher Outfitters offers guided fishing trips on the numerous lakes that dot the Callaway landscape, or you can fish on your own from a rental jon boat on their public fishing lake. Either way, you're in for a great day on the water.
Join Capt. Cefus, Kingfisher's Paul Hudson and Roscoe Worth-Jones from Carolina Electric Boats as they kick off the Nuts and Bolts new broadcast season this Sunday morning on FSN-South. Get the lowdown on the flies to use, how to fish them, and be introduced to a great fishing boat that you steer with your feet... the Twin Troller X10.
Watch it this Sunday morning at 7:15EDT on Fox Sports Net-South and again next Thursday at noon. And you can always get hooked up on the internet with any of the Nuts & Bolts episodes at our Live Internet TV Channel or at MyOutdoorTV.com

WELCOMING BACK AN OLD FRIEND
Kingfish anglers have long known the effectiveness of Russelures, however they had all but disappeared from tackle stores over the past few decades. A couple of years ago, Nuts & Bolts re-introduced Russelures to the eastern half of the US and added them to our On-Line Store. Unfortunately, they went out of production about 8 months ago, and we had the last new one's on the planet.
Now, there's good news. Russelure is under new ownership and they are in ramping up to once again begin producing one of the hottest trolling lures ever made. The official unveiling comes at this year's ICAST Convention next week, but we wanted to let our readers know these awesome gamefish lures will be available again from Nuts & Bolts. And the new owners have not changed a thing. Yep, they still have the super strong hooks, same components and same fish-catching design. In fact, there's some scuttlebutt that new colors may be in the future as well.
We'll be shooting a TV episode that shows why these lures got the nickname - King Killers - in the next few months, so look for video clips in Nuts & Bolts Video Library to see how to fish them.
So get your orders in early. We're re-stocking the On-Line Store and should be ready to ship in the next few weeks. And don't think these are just for kingfish, dolphin, grouper, wahoo, sailfish, tuna, stripers and more will eat these with a passion. Add a couple to your trolling spread, and HOLD ON! |

GREAT GROUPER GETAWAY FINALIST PICTURES
The Great Grouper Getaway is history, but the memories will linger for years to come. Pete doCouto and his son, Peter, had a big time on the adventure, and you'll see all the action on an upcoming TV episode.
But there were a lot of entries worth noting and some great pictures. So we have added some of the finalist pictures to the Image Gallery on the Nuts & Bolts Website. Take a look and enjoy. Thanks to everyone that entered, and remember there's still a little time left to enter the Backyards and Bayous Getaway Contest. We'll be announcing the winner in August on a Nuts & Bolts TV episode. |

3 Great Prizes - 1 Happy Winner
This season, a very lucky individual will be the proud new owner of a Twin Troller X10 boat from Carolina Electric Boats, a custom built fishing rod from Coach's Custom Rods, and a stay at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA. The winner and their guest will also be featured on a Nuts & Bolts television episode and be the envy of all their friends.
To enter, submit your best shallow water fishing story and a photo via the Backyards & Bayous link on the Nuts & Bolts website. Just a few weeks are left to enter, so send them in soon, and good luck!
