Visionary Leader Header
Dear Reader,

Great news!  We've just signed on for another full year of hosting Visionary Leader, Extraordinary Life radio show, and here at Nebo, we're planning a phenomenal line-up of visionary guests and thought leaders for the year ahead.  Over the past 11 months, our listening audience has grown to almost 40,000.  I am thrilled and humbled by this wonderful success.  To me, it indicates that we are making progress with our mission to "inspire and help people everywhere become inspiring" by connecting with the wisdom of visionary leaders.  Thank you for being a part of this.  We've felt your support, ideas and engagement here at Nebo.  You are the reason that we're continuing.

Next week, we're replaying Richard Leider's show about purpose.  The topic is a great fit for our summer schedule, which is designed to give you the mindset and self-awareness needed to become visionary in your own right.

If you haven't heard this one, you'll love learning how to discover and name your own purpose in life -- one of the first steps in becoming an authentic and inspiring leader.  If you have heard it already, listen again and be re-inspired.

I hope you'll join us!

Very best,

                      Discovering Your Purpose
with legendary coach and
best-selling author Richard Leider

Listen on Monday.

Richard LeiderWe all want to find our purpose -- that thing that makes us feel like our life matters. Legendary coach, author and vitality expert Richard Leider defines purpose as that deepest dimension within us that tells us who we are, where we came from, why we' re here, and where we' re going. Purpose fills us with passion, drive and direction. When all else seems unsettled, uncertain, or impermanent, purpose gives us the will not just to live, but to live long and well. Purpose is not for a gifted few, but something each one of us possesses and can uncover. Vision without purpose is meaningless. Over three decades, Leider's extraordinary exploration of his own life purpose has taken him all over the world -- and his research about the importance of purpose has shed light for millions. Join Kate to learn how his experiences with the indigenous people of Tanzania inform his vision.

Visioning:  10 Steps to Creating the Life You Want with Lucia Capacchione

On the July 9 episode of Visionary Leader, Extraordinary Life Lucia talked us through her inspirational visioning process in detail and described the varied dreams it has facilitated, from Disney theme parks to a high school football team's turnaround season to her own dream house in coastal California.

The ten steps below outline her visioning process, which involves both creation of a collage and use of reflective writing.   With each step, we've provided some extra tips from the show and Lucia's website.

Lucia's Ten-Step Visioning® Process

1. Make a Wish
Tip:  Focus on a state of mind you want to achieve in your vision, not acquiring material objects.

2. Search for Images and Words
Tip:  Remember that each image is a symbol of an inner desire. Collect images that symbolize your heart's desire.

3. Focus on the vision
Tip:  If you come across an intriguing image or idea that does not relate to your vision, set it aside for later. Focus on the idea you've chosen for this particular visioning.

4. Compose the Design
Tip:  There is no "right" way to portray your vision, only
       your
way.  Play with arrangements until you have an idea
       that means something to you.

5. Explore and Find Order in Creative Chaos
Tip:  Notice the voice of your inner critic who may present resistance and belittle your vision.  Dialogue in a "saucy" way with this inner critic and empower your inner visionary.

6. Create the Collage
Tip:  Surrender to your creative conscience.  Go ahead
and commit to the ideas symbolized in your collage.

7. Articulate the vision
Tip:  The right brain has helped you create the vision, now
the left brain will help you articulate and follow through.
Write with your non-dominant hand about what you see and
       feel in your vision collage.

8. Reinforce the Dream
Tip:  Put your visioning collage somewhere you will see
very often- at least once a day.

9. Embrace the Reality
Tip:  Enlist the support and expertise of others to make your
       vision happen.

10. Celebrate the Dream Come True
Tip:  Express gratitude and invite others who've helped you
to celebrate the dream come true. Think of the Academy
Awards when the artists celebrate success and thank
those who got them to that point.

A Visioning Victory:

"I was invited to deliver my visioning process to a high school football team in a Texas town right on the Mexican border. After creating a visioning mural in their locker room, their record went from losing 90% of their games to winning 90% of their games. The coach cried when he told me of their success, it was deeply moving."
