Dear Reader,

I'm still thinking about Margaret Regan's forecasts for the future of work from last week's show, especially the possibility that some of us will be "norms" and others will be "enhanced" in the future -- not to mention how close we are to living Star Trek's holodeck concept! The more I consider the unprecedented role of technology in our future, the more I believe that this path will also require us to develop excellent communication and relationship skills. I see that these two ideas go hand in hand if we are to create a future that's truly "enhanced." We'd love to hear your reactions to Margaret's view of the future. Please

Next week, Mark Fernandes will speak to human potential and the power of the human being at work. An innovative and passionate Chief Leadership Officer of a family-owned company that has enjoyed decades of success, Mark will share the story of Luck Companies and how he and leaders at all levels are igniting the passions of their workforce while having a blast doing it. This show will be especially helpful for anyone trying to motivate a team or energize an organization -- or shift a negative culture to a positive one.

I hope you'll join us.

Kate Ebner

On employee loyalty...

[In the future] we will not look for loyalty in terms of tenure as we do today. Employees may come and go from organizations throughout their careers. Loyalty to an organization will be strong commitment and engagement demonstrated by the employee during the period of employment. Organizations will get the most engagement by letting people be free to choose how, when and where to work.
