Unleash ideas in DECA's Global Entrepreneurship Week Campaign

Promote entrepreneurship in your school and community by participating in DECA's Global Entrepreneurship Week Campaign, November 14-20, 2011.

 

Register any entrepreneurship activity chapter members completed in 2011 at http://gewusa.org/user/register. Select DECA as your partner.

 

Report your activities in DECA's campaign at DECA's GEW page.

 

Use Dimensions and the worksheet in your class one day during the week!

  

Have famous DECA alumnae and/or success stories of emerged leaders and entrepreneurs? Send us their stories! We always need examples of the great work that you do and the impact that DECA makes on our members.

Enter Your Membership Rosters Today!

 

As the deadline for initial rosters approaches, this is an excellent week to make sure all of your DECA members are on an official roster and to make sure they are submitted! DECA's initial deadline is November 15, 2011, but please check with your chartered association for your deadline.

Submitting your membership before this date ensures that you and your students continue to receive all of the benefits of DECA membership:

  • All communications including our chapter packets.
  • Opportunity to participate in the online challenges.
  • Opportunity to apply for student and advisor scholarships.
  • Opportunity to participate in and earn recognition through DECA's Competitive Events Program.
  • Your members' subscriptions to DECA Dimensions.

DECA is pleased to share a new audio and video public service announcement that your chapter can use in your community and with local media. Many news outlets, such as radio stations, local television affiliates and local public access channels, provide opportunities for non-profit organizations to run public service announcements free of charge. School-based Enterprises (SBE)

 

If you operate a school-based enterprise, please take 5 minutes to complete this survey. Data collected will assist DECA staff in providing relevant and useful resources.

National Advisory Board Updates

DECA is pleased to announce that NAB partner T.J.Maxx/Marshalls has agreed to sponsor DECA's Buying and Merchandising Operations Research Event. We encourage you to work with your local TJX stores when conducting your buying and merchandising research.

 

Congratulations to the Top 3 finalists in the DECA/DeVry Innovations and Entrepreneurship Challenge, Apponequet Regional HS (MA), Monta Vista HS (CA) and Selah HS (WA). The finalists will present their concepts to DeVry at the Innovations & Entrepreneurship Conference in Chicago, IL. The top winners earn trips to ICDC, as well as computers and other exciting awards.
