Maintain DECA's Brand Integrity
If you're going to be using the DECA logo, please take a moment to review DECA's guidelines for the use of the DECA logo, emblems and insignia. This important document, available on the DECA website, explains the appropriate use of the logo. In order to protect the DECA logo and ensure our chapters receive quality products at a reasonable price, DECA requires permission to be granted for all uses not on the approved list. Last year, DECA provided chapter and state associations with over 200,000 custom products - from t-shirts to Pirate Hats! DECA Images saved chapters between $5 and $500 per order, compared to their local vendors. For more information, please visit:

Finish Line DECA Days: Finish Line managers will be contacting you soon to discuss our partnership and the employment opportunities for your students - not to mention that they will not hire anyone under 18 unless they are a DECA member. Virtual Business Challenge Registration Information
Team registration for the DECA Virtual Business Challenge (VBC) will begin at 10 a.m. EST on October 11! Be sure to have your students visit http://www.knowledgematters.com/vbc/ before October 24, the starting date of the Challenge, if they want to participate in this totally interactive technological competition.
The DECA VBC is an official DECA competitive event sponsored by Knowledge Matters and DECA. DECA members use highly visual simulation software to manage either a retail business or a football franchise. All of the qualifying rounds for this event take place via the Internet on the Knowledge Matters website. Teams that qualify will then compete at the ICDC for scholarship money.
The dates for this year's qualifying rounds are: Challenge 1: October 24, 10:00AM EST - November 18, 5:00PM EST

DeVry Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge
Participants in the DeVry Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge will present ideas to launch innovative business concepts. Business concepts should enhance the lives of the North American consumer and must be related to one of the following themes: technology, environmental sustainability, personal health, or tourism. Challenge participants will make presentations to DeVry University faculty, administrators and executives via videos posted on YouTube.
Submission Deadline = October 3, 2011
Grand Prize = 1.) Travel stipend to attend ICDC in Salt Lake City, Utah. 2.) Trip to Chicago, Illinois to meet with executives from DeVry University.

FIDM Challenge
Participants in The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) Challenge will help to further the awareness and understanding of sustainability in textile related products by creating a runway worthy garment using previously used fabrics or garments. Challenge participants will make presentations to FIDM faculty and staff via videos posted on YouTube.
Submission Deadline = February 10, 2012

Finish Line Challenge
Participants in the Finish Line Challenge will conduct research studies at Finish Line retail stores to help Finish Line evaluate how it is perceived by its core consumers. Participants will develop unique, real-world improvement strategies based on opportunities discovered during the research. Challenge participants will make presentations to Finish Line executives via videos posted on YouTube.
Submission Deadline = December 19, 2011
Grand Prize = Travel stipend to attend ICDC in Salt Lake City, Utah.
