DECA | Update for Chapter Advisors

Greetings!

We received enthusiastic responses from last month's e-mail highlighting a membership challenge for your chapter. Many of our chapters have surpassed their goal of a 10% increase! You should be commended for your awesome work to extend DECA membership to all students with career interests in marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality and management.

As the deadline for initial rosters approaches, this is an excellent week to make sure all of your DECA members are on an official roster and to make sure they are submitted! DECA's initial deadline is November 15, 2010, but please check with your state/provincial association for your deadline.

Submitting your membership before this date ensures that you and your students continue to receive all of the benefits of DECA membership:

All communications including our chapter packets.
Opportunity to participate in the online challenges.
Opportunity to apply for student and advisor scholarships.
Opportunity to participate in and earn recognition through DECA's Competitive Events Program.
Your members' subscriptions to DECA Dimensions.

2010 DECA Membership Campaign

Reap the rewards of Diamond Level achievement for your 2010 DECA Membership Campaign activities! Activities must be completed by November 12 and submissions are due to DECA Inc. by December 1. DECA National Officer Candidates

School Based Enterprise Certification

For those who plan to certify or re-certify your school based enterprise this year, go to http://www.schoolbasedenterprises.org, download the 2010-2011 guidelines and start preparing your documentation. Participating in the certification program is a great way for SBEs to earn recognition for outstanding achievement and to validate with your administration that your school store is an integral part of your curriculum.
