outstanding programs. Use DECA Week to promote DECA to the school and local
communities and earn your way on the stage at the International Career
Development Conference by achieving Diamond Level recognition. Click here for sample DECA Week activities.

Stock Market Game Reminder If you have teams competing in the DECA Stock Market Game please remember that they must have three (3) executed stock purchases by October 22 or they become disqualified. In addition, each team must hold three (3) different stocks by the end of the game. |
Competitive Events Rule Change Clarification
The Board of Directors approved a new rule for competitive events which reads "Materials appropriate to the situations may be handed to or left with judges in all competitive events." DECA has received questions regarding the intent of this rule change and would like to provide some general guidelines to assist students and advisors preparing for competition. General Guidelines: Items of monetary value can be handed to but cannot be left with judges. Items such as flyers, brochures, pamphlets and business cards may be handed to or left with the judge. For participants in the Individual Series Events, Team Decision Making Events and Principles of Business Administration Events, the materials handed to the judge must be created using the materials provided during the designated preparation period. |

Virtual Business Challenge Round 1 Begins on October 25 The DECA Virtual Business Challenge (VBC) is an official DECA competitive event where participants use highly visual simulation software (like SimCity) to manage a business individually or as a team. Students download software over the Internet at no charge and compete for the highest score against all DECA chapters. The VBC culminates in live competitions at the International Career Development Conference. This year's VBC will have two tracks: Virtual Business-Retailing and Virtual Business-Sports.
