*ALERT* RURAL COUNTIES:  Oppose SB 170 - read California State Association of Counties letter.  SB 170 would provide Native American tribes or tribal groups with the authority to seek immediate cancellation of a Williamson Act contract by qualifying the proposed siting of a
myriad of new uses on Williamson Act land as in the public interest. In order to disallow the
immediate cancellation, the bill would require the affected Board of Supervisors to rebut the
presumption that the cancellation is in the public interest.

ADDITIONAL LETTERS ON ENTERPRISE Off Reservation Casino: A two-part determination process provides citizens, tribes, state agencies and local government a voice in the approval process.

United Auburn Indian Community Oppose Concurrance: For multiple reasons, Auburn opposes the land-into-trust application sumbitted by enterprise.  In brief, Auburn believes that the development and operation of a gaming facility on the Yuba County Lands would be environmentally, socially, and economically detrimental to Auburn as a neighboring Tribe, as well as to the greater community in and around the Yuba County Lands.

Citizens for a Better Way Oppose Concurrance: Is the intention of Supervisors and   staff to present unbiased information to the BIA in the letter responding to your letter of January 16, 2009 (BIA- Dale Morris) or, rather is the letter intentionally biased to conform with obligations to the MOU?

County of Yuba's final letter: The MOU between the applicant and Yuba County, as well as requirements contained in the EIS will mitigate identified impacts so that the placement of the 40 acres into trust and development of the casino will not have a detrimental impact on Yuba County. However, if agreed upon mitigation measures identified in the MOU or in the EIS are not implemented locating a gaming establishment on newly acquired land will have a detrimental impact on Yuba County.
