DCDT Hosts Many Events at CEC-Come on by!!
DCDT
has several events planned for the Council for
Exceptional Children's International Conference in Nashville. If you are planning on attending the CEC conference, be sure
to stop by and participate! All meetings and events will take place at
the
Gaylord Hotel. Several meetings are open to all members, others are
meetings in which you can join a committee!!

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER Thursday,
April 22, 2010 7:00-11:00 pm
DCDT
student members and advisors, are you planning to attend the 2010 CEC National
Convention in Nashville? If so, you don't want to miss this year's STUDENT
SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER held on Thursday,
April 22, 2010 from 7:00-11:00 pm. This event, sponsored by CEC's Student
Committee, raises money for furthering careers of special educators.
Tickets
are $45 for students, $60 for professionals. Tickets are limited, so purchase yours now by calling CEC at
1-888-232-7733, or e-mail service@cec.sped.org. Tickets will
be sold on-site at CEC registration only if available, so don't miss out on
this always-popular event! Sorry, no refunds for this fundraiser.
Your
ticket includes a country dinner buffet and your choice of non-alcoholic
beverage. A live band will provide music for dancing with old and new friends,
or sit back and relax to some of the best in country music. A cash bar will be
available. Photo ID will be required to purchase alcoholic beverages. The Nashville Palace is at 2611
McGavock Pike-a short walk from the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention
Center.
Come
join your CEC colleagues at the world famous Nashville Palace, the club where
Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, and other country superstars got their start.

group of collaborative professionals concerned about issues related to
vocational evaluation and transition assessment as it impacts youth

presidents.

Parent Issues Meeting Join a committed group of members
interested in increasing the role of parents in the transition
planning
process and to enhance the skills of special educators in partnering

parents and families.

Research Committee Join the group that recommending a
research agenda for transition informed by current issues in the field
as
well as evidence-based practices. How DCDT can support new research
studies
will be discussed at our meeting.
