SUBMISSION DEADLINE: APRIL 24, 2009

25th Annual Pacific Rim International Conference on Disabilities The Center on Disability Studies at the University of Hawaii cordially invites you to the 25th Annual Pacific Rim International Conference on Disabilities, May 4-5, 2009 in Waikiki (Honolulu), Hawaii.  In the tradition of PacRim, the 2009 conference will revisit familiar themes and explore new directions through scholarship, best practice, and international networking.  Pre and post conference sessions will  including an accessible sports Sunday at the beach; an international film festival; and the 2nd Annual International Forum: Securing the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Eradicating Poverty.

Of particular interest for DCDT members will be the Transition to Adulthood Strand.  Please consider submitting a presentation proposal at http://www.pacrim.hawaii.edu/submissions/.  The deadline is December 12, 2008 and you will be informed of the outcome within 2-3 weeks of your submission.

Traditionally this conference is one of the most exciting for attendees and presenters -- providing a unique balance of cultures, and issues of local, national and international importance.  Conference rates are very reasonable and we have secured room blocks for under $160 per night.  We will also help facilitate room-shares if you are trying to keep your costs low.

This year's North Carolina DCDT Spring Conference will be held April 29-May 1, 2009 in Raleigh. We are currently requesting people submit Call for Presentations to be speakers at the conference. Raleigh is a great place to visit and easily accessible by plane and car. Its a great place to share your knowledge about transition!
