Françaises est Terminée.
Boy I wish I was good at languages. Unfortunately I am no. No good that is. At languages I mean. I even struggle sometimes to understand good in English, or speak for that matter. But it is a requirement for my PhD to be able to translate French. Instead of taking the class this summer, I decided to study by myself. I was congratulating myself on this great idea right up until the day when I failed the exam.
Its OK, I'm a big boy. I can admit it. There's no shame in failing an exam. Happens to plenty of people ... all the time. So, I went back through the textbook, and practiced a lot more translation and retook the exam. I'm happy to report I passed the exam on the second try.

The Weight is Over!
 If you have seen me in person, or checked out my Facebook page, you will know that I have been on a diet and have lost a bunch of weight. I feel great, and look (ahem) fantastic. Those books are the amount of weight I lost. If you can correctly guess the total I'll reward you with a coupon for ice crea... I mean for McDonal... oops ... well, I'll send you something. A rice cake maybe!

Fall Semester has Begun.
Addie and Diego are back in school. Diego is in his last year at Elementary school, and Addie has just two more years until she graduates High School.
This semester I am taking a course on the Torah (Law), and another one on the Writings. The Jewish people divide the Old Testament into three parts: the Law, the Prophets and the Writings. So I will be covering about 2/3 of the Old Testament this semester. Oh, and I have to be able to read and translate from the Hebrew text.
Boy I wish I was good at languages!
