| Brigitte's Family Group
Meet the Family Group that Brigitte has started co-leading. There are students here from Taiwan, Singapore, Myanmar, and another (very large) Asian country! We use these Family Groups to mentor students and help them grow more than just academically.
Brigitte is excited to have time to be able to input into these women's lives. In addition she is personally mentoring two students, one from Mongolia and one from Korea. |
Student's prayer needs
I expected my students would ask for an extension for their research paper, and several of them did. But I was surprised at the deep issues some of my students are facing. There is the flu going around, so that is understandable. But one of my students, Michael, was hit by a car from behind while riding his motorcycle. He injured his knee and his wrist. I talked to him on the phone and he assured me he is resting and is recovering. Plus it was a hit-and-run incident. Despite his injuries Michael managed to catch the license number of the car and the Police have arrested the driver. We're thankful he wasn't injured worse. He's thankful he had already written his paper!
Another student, Paul, asked to talk with me after class. He had returned home to India during mid-term break to see his fiancé (Amy) and make the final arrangements for their June wedding. Unfortunately they found out that Amy's kidney problem had worsened to the point she needed to be put on dialysis. So all their plans had to be changed. Right now the priority is trying to find a kidney donor for Amy--it looks like her mother may be a good match--and getting her healthy enough for the operation. The wedding is postponed indefinitely, and Paul has had to return to Singapore and try to concentrate on finishing this semester.

| Fruit of the Month
 We received several creative names for last month's fruit: Diego-fruit, Diego-berry, Diego-steen, or my personal favorite Diego-melon!
This month's fruit is described by a Vietnamese riddle that literally translated means: Toad's skin covers tapioca wheat, tapioca wheat covers coal ball! Can you identify it?
