Hi!

2008 goes down as a year we weren't afraid to take big bites out of new challenges! Moving our family to Singapore had its share of new and (ahem) interesting experiences - not the least of which was the food!

A&D at school

That we survived and even thrived is thanks, in no small part, to you!
They Grow Up Too Fast...

At Airport

In the spirit of taking bites out of new challenges, Addie left today for a Missionary Kid conference in Beijing . . . without us! Here she is (in glasses) with the other MK's from Singapore who are going with her. She told her Mom not to cry at the airport and we all did well in honoring that request. Though there did seem to be something in my eye as we gathered in a circle to pray for them.

It seems like only yesterday we were taking her to school for her first day. Today we took her to the airport for her first international trip as an unaccompanied minor! But she has been looking forward to this trip, and to connecting with other missionary kids from all over Asia. And we couldn't be more proud of her!
Financial Update

Biting off new challenges means stepping out with complete confidence in the provision of our Master. I wrote earlier explaining how our living costs have increased significantly, and I wanted to give you an update of what the Lord has done so far.

We were asking God for $12,000 in annual or special needs gifts in December to see us through 2009. To date we have received just over $6,000. It seems the financial crisis is affecting many more people than we realized. Several people had pledged to give an annual gift in December, but to date only one of those gifts has been received. Also one of our supporting churches will have to halve their contribution next year.

Please pray for us. We want to not just survive, but thrive in Singapore. But we cannot do that unless the Lord provides for our needs.
Thank you for helping us take a big bite out of the challenges the Lord had for us in 2008!

Happy New Year for 2009!
