Hi!

This month I wanted to give you a glimpse into the lives of my students at EAST. At first I really struggled with such a small class. I asked the Lord if we really went through all the effort to get here for just three students. But these are great students, and I am having a blast teaching them "Missionary Anthropology".

ICS505 class

Next quarter I will be teaching two courses on Paul's Epistles. One here at EAST, and the other at Singapore Bible College. Pray for me--I have to start my preparation yesterday!
Bessie

BessieBessie's career as an Electrical Engineer was cut short by a genetic eye condition that means she is slowly but surely her eyesight is degenerating.

Forced to reconsider her priorities, Bessie changed careers and spent four years ministering in a large Asian country. Since returning she has been studying for her Masters Degree in Intercultural studies at EAST. She is praying about returning to the large Asian country when she graduates.
Jacky

JackieJacky is an outgoing, friendly guy who loves to laugh. He makes our class times fun. He and his wife are on staff with Singapore Campus Crusade for Christ.

They have been serving outside Singapore in a large Asian country. But after graduation Jackie and his wife plan to take their four children (from 8 to 1 year old) to live and work in the Middle East with the predominant religious group there.
Lincoln

Lincoln
Lincoln is a lawyer so he has the habit of asking the most challenging, and most insightful, questions in class. He keeps me on my toes.

He studied in the UK and describes returning to his home of Singapore as the biggest culture shock he's experienced. For the past few years Lincoln has been active in short-term mission trips to the newly inaugurated country of East Timor (formerly part of Indonesia.)
Fruit of the Month

A&D at schoolCongratulations to those who guessed last month's fruit was...Rambutan!

This month's fruit is spiky like an artichoke on the outside and looks like a kiwifruit on the inside. Can name this fruit?
Thank you for allowing us to influence these students who will influence many others.
