Christina Merry of our Newport News office would like to let all area businesses know about the motivational seminar coming to Hampton Roads in early September. Speakers will include Terry Bradshaw, Rudy Giuliani and Bill Cosby. Although Reliance is not involved with the seminar in any official capacity, we think it has a lot to offer business leaders.

While the people of Hampton Roads are sweating under the hot July sun, we want to make sure the businesses of Hampton Roads aren't cooling off prematurely.

This region is on target to return to pre-recession levels by 2015, according to experts quoted in Inside Business. But we think Hampton Roads can do better than that, and we've got an idea of how to kick-start a faster recovery (hint: it involves hiring), and a step-by-step plan for implementing it.

If your employees aren't just overheated but positively burned out, we've got some advice for increasing their productivity. And we've got some advice to keep your business out of hot water by having a strong ethics policy.

We're your partner in employment, and we want to help your business grow. If you ever have questions about human resources or other employment issues, please feel free to contact us. We'd be happy to share our expertise.

How You Can Help Hampton Roads Recover Faster
HiringThere's some gloomy news out there in terms of jobs.

So what can you do to turn that news around and help Hampton Roads recover faster? It's actually really simple...

EthicsYou might have heard a bit about a certain newspaper in the U.K. that had to close up shop after 168 years following a major scandal that involved hacking into the phones of politicians, celebrities... and murder victims, as well as the families of British soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In addition to the closing of the paper and the arrest of at least one former editor, the damage done by the hacking includes a loss of nearly $1 billion in ad revenue and 200 jobs lost...

To Boost Productivity, Let Employees Reboot
VacationWhen your computer is running slowly, or acting strangely, or you've just made a major demand of it in terms of new software, you know just what it needs, right? A reboot. A chance to stop running its processors so hard, to pause the flow of energy and to start again, refreshed.

Do you follow the same wisdom for your people? There's a strong chance that you might not...
Reliance: Part of Award-Winning Staffing Team
Anserteam logoYou probably already know Reliance Staffing as one of Hampton Roads' top staffing firms. But you might not know that we also have national reach, thanks to our partnership with ANSERTEAM, the Alliance of National Staffing and Employment Resources.

As a member/owner of ANSERTEAM, Reliance can fulfill national contracts (which can come in very handy if you're getting tired of the national firm that's handling your staffing from across the country). We can also share in the good news that ANSERTEAM has received the Diverse Supplier of the Year award from Sodexo!
