Needed: Bike racks in the business district! The proliferation of bicycles locked to trees, meters, signs, and anything you can think of is affecting the appearance of Red Bank's business district, particularly on the west side. We have some bike racks in the district, sponsored by local business and property owners. Would you and/or a neighboring business be interested in sponsoring one? The rack will be donned with a plaque commemorating your sponsorship. Contact RiverCenter at 732-842-4244. |

Condolences go out to the family and friends of Stephen Montanino, owner of Faith's Aura Boutique, 71 Monmouth St. who passed away last month. Steve owned and ran the wonderfully unique boutique here in Red Bank for over 14 years. His daughter, Faith, will be carrying on the business for her Dad. RiverCenter wishes her well and offers support as she takes this on. Call us anytime!
Donations requested! The organizers of two upcoming events are asking for gift certificates, coupons, and the like from local stores and restaurants for gift bags that will be given out to participants of these events:
Hamilton Jewelers is hosting the Ferarri event on June 22nd. Owners of 75 - 85 Ferraris will be in Red Bank all afternoon. They will all be given gift bags at the start of the ride that culminates in Red Bank on Broad and Monmouth Streets where the cars will be parked for visitors to look at while the owners shop in town. Whether or not a discount is offered is up to you, but it would be wise to somehow make these shoppers aware of your business via a flyer or ad. | Tips for Businesses: Going Green
Retailers who think 'going green' is just another fad or marketing ploy should think again. Consumers are becoming more aware of their overall impact on our communities. Shoppers are developing more of a green attitude as a way of life and retailers need to be there to meet those needs.
By implementing sustainable practices, retail businesses can become more efficient and save money too. Small business owners may think the cost and trouble of going green isn't worth the return, but the fact is each eco-friendly idea retailers adopt can make a huge difference to our planet, and boost your reputation to the eco-friendly consumer population.
There are also movements around the country to ban plastic shopping bags and encourage reusable shopping bags instead. Retailers can be ahead of the curve by starting with their own plans for going green. Go to this site to read the entire article and get tips on how to go green! | |

Business of the Month: No Joe's Cafe

No Joe's Cafe (aka No Ordinary Joe & Joe Mama's Soup-A-Rama) at 51 Broad St. was opened by Mike Tierney in 1993, while Red Bank was still just beginning attempts to revitalize the business district. A fun, comfortable, quaint hangout style sitdown cafe with great coffees, desserts, soups, paninis, sandwiches, salads and more, No Joe's business stays successful by running business smartly. They consistently update their menu (which was recently expanded yet again) while being at the forefront of takeout orders by offering customers online ordering and free delivery. Their online ordering system is simple (and fun) to use and makes grabbing a bite for lunch a breeze. Check it out for yourself at www.nojoescafe.com. Mike's innovative approach to running a business in a downtown environment make No Ordinary Joe's Business of the Month!
