Here is a breakdown that outlines what the legislature recommended for arts, arts education, cultural, and historical resources in its proposed budget for FY 2011-2012. Some of those line items originally recommended for funding were vetoed by the Governor as reflected in the yellow highlighted line items.
Quick summary of budget highlights for our industry after Governor's veto list came out this afternoon -- these amounts are recommended for FY 2011-2012 in the state budget:
$2,000,000 for Cultural and Museum Grants
$500,000 for Culture Builds Florida/Specific Cultural Project Grants
$350,000 for the Florida Humanities Council
$900,000 for Historic Preservation Grants ($200,000 for Government House Interpretative Film & Exhibit in St. Augustine and $200,000 for Government House Museum Renovations in St. Augustine were not vetoed by the Governor, leaving $500,000 for historic preservation grants)
$110,952 for Arts for a Complete Education
