October 19, 2011
This weekend is a big weekend in downtown Howell. The 9th Annual Legend of Sleepy Howell will fill the streets for a fun filled night on Saturday, October 22 from 5-8 pm. If you've never come to this event...it is one of the most spectacular in our community. Thousands of friends and family and visitors gather on this one glorious night to show off their costumes and trick or treat in the middle of Grand River Avenue. There will be candy booths galore, a hay maze, hay rides, and a hay climb. There will be entertainment by the Courthouse and a costume contest for humans and one for canine's as well. There are inflatables on Michigan Avenue, pick up games of broom ball can be played, and there will be creepy campfires where you can toast a delicious marshmallow, and so much more.
And don't forget to join the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority on State Street, North of Clinton for the start of the 3rd annual Headless Horseman 5K/10K at 7:30 pm. Run, Icabod, Run! (A special thanks to our inaugural sponsors - Tanger Outlet and Anytime Fitness. We sure couldn't have done this without them.)
Come down for a spooktacular time! This is one event you don't want to miss.
P.S. If you like what you see, please take a minute to to your friends, family, and other parks and recreation enthusiasts and encourage them to subscribe by joining our mailing list! News and information from the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority will be forwarded to you each and every Wednesday.
