July 13, 2011
Right now...right this minute...the Howell Teen Center is leading the way in the Cobb-Hall "Change for Livingston" annual giving campaign, and we need your help to stay in the lead.
Community members are making donations in the fountain at Cobb-Hall Insurance on Grand River Avenue and Cobb-Hall will match the donations up to $2,000. The Howell Teen Center is only one of the organizations that is eligible and we need each and every one of you to VOTE for us so that we become the lucky organization that is the recipient of the donation.
Here's what you all must do:
1. Go to the Cobb-Hall facebook page (www.facebook.com/cobbhall) and LIKE their page.
2. Then go to their photo album page and click into the "Change for Livingston" photo album.
3. When you get there look for the Howell Teen Center logo and LIKE that as well.
It is that easy. You can vote until July 30th. Thank you to Cobb-Hall for this wonderful community initiative. We'll let you know at the end of July if we won! With your help, we will!
P.S. If you like what you see, please take a minute to to your friends, family, and other parks and recreation enthusiasts and encourage them to subscribe by joining our mailing list! News and information from the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority will be forwarded to you each and every Wednesday.

Children will investigate the world around them using hands on activities as well as field trips and community visitors. Supportive interactions lead the child to a positive self-image that will provide a sound basis for all subsequent learning. Our programs focus on the whole child. | Ann Arbor Art Fair & U of M Museum of Art |
| |

|
Established in 1960, the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair is the original of the now four award winning Ann Arbor Art Fairs. Together, the fairs attract over 500,000 attendees from across the nation. The Original Fair was named the Number One Art Fair in the country by AmericanStyle magazine readers survey (October 2004) and has made the Top Ten Fairs and Festivals list every year since.
After enjoying the morning at the art fair we will have lunch at the Grizzly Peak Brewing Company. Grizzly Peak Brewing Company opened in August of 1995, and has become a landmark in downtown Ann Arbor. Grizzly Peak is housed in a century-old building with wood floors, tin ceilings, and exposed brick walls, which create a warm, casual atmosphere.
Our last stop of the day will be at the U of M Museum of Art. In 2009, the U of M opened a landmark 53,000 square foot expansion, named the Mazine and Stuart Frankel and the Frankel Family Wing for its lead benefactors, and a major restoration of its historic 41,000 square foot home, Alumni Memorial Hall. Designed by principal architect Brad Cloepfil and his team at Allied Works Architecture, the $41.9 million transformation not only more than doubled the space available for collections display, temporary exhibitions, programs, and educational exploration, but also fulfilled the Museum's mission to bridge visual art and contemporary culture, scholarship, and accessibility, tradition, and innovation.
This trip is sponsored by Medilodge of Howell. Lunch is not included in the price of the trip. Cost is $10 per person. Trip departs the Howell Senior Center at the Bennett Recreation Center located at 925 W. Grand River at 9:00am.
