Are you in middle school or high school and excited for summer? Are you going to miss your friends? Would like to celebrate the school year being over? We'll have the event for you. The Howell Teen Center is throwing a summer bash that is sure to rock your socks off. The event includes many attractions such as a DJ, Human Sphere races, inflatable's along with many water and shaving cream based games. With special special appearance by the Howell Fire Department at 4:30pm. Come spend time running wild or just hanging out with your friends playing games. Open to both middle school and high school students.
Event will be Friday, June 10, from 2:30pm-5:00pm and held at the Bennett Recreation Center.
Cost is $5 per teen, must have permission slip.

Under the Hood: New Driver Knowledge |

Did you just get your license? Ready to hit the road?
This class is for new drivers and will help you find your way
around under the hood. This class will show you basic
repairs that every driver should know. Give your parents the
security they need to send you out on your own. Please bring
your car or your parents car to class.
Class will be Tuesday, July 19, 7:00pm-9:00pm and held at the Bennett Recreation Center.
Cost will be $25 for City of Howell and Oceola Township, $35 for Marion and Genoa Township, $50 for non-residents

Auto Repair 101 |

 This hands-on car maintenance and repair class willcover the basics such as changing a flat tire, checking fluids,checking tire pressure and more. You will be working onyour own car, please bring your vehicle with you.
Class is Tuesday, July 12, 7:00pm-9:00pm and held at the Bennett Recreation Center.

Ann Arbor Art Fair |

Established in 1960, the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair is the original of the now four award winning Ann Arbor Art Fairs. After enjoying the morning at the art fair we will have lunch (on your own) at the Grizzly Peak Brewing Company, a
century old building with wood floors, tin ceilings and exposed brick walls, which creates a warm , casual atmosphere.

A timeless story of courage and cowardice set against the back drop of the 1916 war against Pancho Villa.

Don't let the dog days of summer end without another chance to lace up your spikes and hit the diamond. Karl Kling, former head coach at Concordia University and owner of Michigan Sports Academy-Livingston, and his staff will be looking forward to working with your son or daughter on the finer points of the game.This inlcudes: Hitting, defense and pitching. Each child will learn the correct approach to hitting from holding the bat all the way through the keys of a solid swing. The session will be action filled as the kids will be constantly on the move with drills, instruction and games.This clinic is great for those who play at all levels or are just learning the game for the first time.
Clinic will be Saturday, July 23, 9:00m-11:00am fror Grades 3-5 and
11:00am-1:00pm for Grades 6-8. And will be held
Cost is $30 for City of Howell and Oceola residents, $46 for Marion and Genoa Township residents, $60 for non-residents.

Summer Schedule begins this Monday June 13th! Check out new classes and times on our web page or stop by for a flier with lots of early morning options for your workout.
Sign up for swim lessons beginning Thursday June 9th at 8am, days and times are available online under Aquatic Center, just select the Swimming Lessons drop-down!

Sign up for group cycling by this Friday June 10th as we need a minimum number for our classes to run. Register online at www.howellrecreation.org or call the Aquatic Center at 517-540-8355.
Interested in springboard diving? We have two courses this summer, 7:30-8:30pm on M/W with Charlie Bates 7/11-8/3. Beginning June 20th to July 18th on Monday and Wednesdays at 9:00am taught by Stephanie O'Callaghan, or July 20th to Aug. 17th. If you are interested, call the Aquatic Center today for more information or to sign up for this great training opportunity. Whether you are an experienced diver or want to learn the ropes this is the class for you!

A Day of Discovery in Detroit |

Our day begins at the Federal Reserve Building where we'll take part in a guided tour, which highlights how the Federal Reserve operates and features the Historical Currency Collection. After the morning tour, we'll head to a Detroit favorite, Traffic Jam & Snug for lunch. Our tour continues as we find our way to the Pewabic Pottery Studios for an enlightening tour of this artisan specialty. Our final stop will be the Ford Picquette Avenue Plant. Built in 1904, the plant is the birthplace of the Model T. Here is where Henry Ford and his team built the first of 12,000 Model T's. Includes round trip transportation, admission and tours of each facility, full lunch, and all taxes and gratuities.
Tour departs on Tuesday, June 14, from the Howell VG's at 8:30am.

 | Early Simple Machines |

Join us as we explore the creation of simple machines using Lego blocks. We will explore basic mechanical elements
such as gears, levers, pulleys, wheels and axels as well as investigating scientific concepts and problem solving. We
will work as a group to figure out what works and what doesn't. You won't want to miss this class. Must be registered by 6/22 or class will be cancelled.
Class will be Wednesday, July 6-July 27, from 10:00am-12:00am OR 6:00pm-8:00pm will be held at the Bennett Recretion Center.
Cost will be $80 for City of Howell and Oceola Township residents, $112 for Marion and Genoa Township residents, and $150 for non-residents.

The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority was formed in 2006 and serves residents in the City of Howell, Oceola Township, Genoa Township and Marion Township.
