We'll arrive to the island by boat, guests are greeted by an informative and entertaining history presentation at the Island pavilion before taking the 7 minute walk along a wooded trail to the Lightkeppers home where a breathtaking view and delicious lunch awaits each guest. After lunch, guests may tour the Lightkeeper's home and take pictures of rare & endangered plants before boarding the ferryboat for the trip back to the mainland. We'll enjoy coffee and dessert on the boat ride home. This event is a Michigan highlight, and has only been available to the public within the last 5 years.

Mary Poppins at the Detroit Opera House
marypoppinsMary Poppins is a Broadway musical based on the Disney film adaptation of the stories by P.L. Travers. Mary Poppins brings to Broadway the story of a magical nanny who transforms the lives of a British family with her unusual gifts. An exceptional production that represents some of the finest stage effects on Broadway today, Mary Poppins is one of the most popular family shows on Broadway. With dancing statues, flying nannies, upside down chimney sweeps, and more surprises, the Broadway musical of Mary Poppins is as enchanting as the nanny herself. Though slightly long, there is no doubt that Mary Poppins is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Disney recommends this show for audiences 6 and up.  Price includes: round trip transportation, dinner at Traffic Jam & Snug, main floor tickets and water, juice & muffins on the bus.

Sunday, December 19, bus will depart from the Bennett Recreation Center at 3:00pm and head toward the Detroit Opera House. Reservation deadline is August 23! Cost will be $109 per person.
