Both students and teachers play role in improving learning
At Alberta's Golden Hills School Division, both students and teachers play key roles in improving student achievement through assessment for learning. Located east of Calgary, the division covers more than 3,000 square miles and serves nearly 7,000 students. The population and schools are diverse and include commuter communities close to Calgary, small rural schools, Hutterite schools, regular schools, Christian schools, Outreach schools and approximately 200 international students from more than 30 different countries. Golden Hills' goal is to improve student achievement through supporting all teachers in implementation of assessment for learning strategies.
