Dear Friends of Winter,
In celebration of the Winter Wilderness Stewardship partnership between Winter Wildlands Alliance and the US Forest Service, we are thrilled to announce our 2nd annual Day of Action, and we want YOU to be a part of it!
You can help in your own backyard by volunteering to place boundary markers and educational kiosks in Wilderness Areas. The Caribou-Targhee National Forest Service has found that the boundary markers set by last year's Day of Action's volunteers were a huge success in deterring illegal motorized travel into the Jedediah Smith Wilderness and that more boundary markers were needed to complete this project.
Join us for a day in the dirt on Saturday September 8th
You have the option of being at one of two work sites:
Option 1: Fox Creek Pinnacle
WWA will gather 20 volunteers to hike 2.5 hours each way, peel lodge poles and post them at the Jedediah Smith Wilderness boundary. Volunteers will post 30-40 boundary markers in the Fox Creek area.
Option 2: Glory Peak
A second work party of 12 volunteers that will travel to Glory Peak Ridge and post another 10-15 boundary markers.
